Can I connect from SQL server 6.5 client to a SQL server 7.0 server?

Can I connect from SQL server 6.5 client to a SQL server 7.0 server?
I have a client is installed SQL server 6.5 and IIS4.0. I want connect to a SQL server 7 through internet. I have a asp page in client machine.
