Are the Remote and Destination subnets different? Have you tried using netextender? Works much better! But unfortunately the licenses aren't free :-(
It most likely has to be on the client end if other users can connect. heck the antivirus software to see if it has web filtering enabled. I...
Yeah that's pretty odd... What firmware ver are you running on the Sonicwall. I would start with getting that up to date to start. I would power cycle it too.
The VLAN should have its own zone so you need to adjust the firewall rules between that zone and the LAN zone. Assuming the Sonicwall is the gateway for each subnet.
With the metro E or carrier level Ethernet I have worked with it was all layer 2. You did't "need" a firewall or router at each site. However, if your subnets aren't able to be changed to the same or if you have a significant amount of nodes at each site it would help to have them. they will...
Enable reporting and look at traffic by ip. Sounds like you have virus on a pc sending out massive amounts of traffic to the internet. This has happened to me many of times
The connection monitor in the Sonicwall would be a good start. If that doesn't give you enough info run a packet capture from within the Sonicwall and look at it in Wireshark. This will give you much more detail on to what's actually going on.
Are both zone's marked as trusted?
Do you have any of the UTM services enabled? They will surely slow it down. Also try making another port the WAN and play with the link speed settings. I have had problems with Sonicwall and some cable modems. In addition, make sure you are running the latest firmware.
Do you get the correct privs when accessing it via UNC path? If not then double check you Share and NTFS permissions again. Also try it from another machine.
You can also check your effective permissions on FS02.
Assuming this is a memeber server...
Option 1: Login locally
Option 2: Shut it down, remove the network cable and then boot it back up. Logon to the old domain with the cached creds.
I have been deploying apps via GP and I would like to leave the GPOs as a perminant policy for future workstations that are added to the network. However if I do this, will this cause the applications to reinstall themselves on the existing computers everytime they are booted?
My concern is...
Well you could change the port on the 2003 server to 3391 to quickly test the firewall rule.
Check to make sure the 2008R2 server can connection to the internet and that's it's DNS and gateway are correct.
Also make sure you are using the latest RDP client externally as remote desktop for...
