    Thanks for the tips, I tried your tips there, the only thing I didnt do was disable Com2 in the BIOS as I couldnt find this option in my Gigabyte GA-71XE4 mobo BIOS. It had troubles when installing the modem driver as it wanted HCF1103.INF and that folder only contained HCF1103M.INF I pointed...

    I have a Rockwell HCF 56k modem (WS-5614pm3g). In my old Win95OSR2 PC I used the 2.1.2.135.6 driver and it worked fine but that doesnt work on my Win98 PC. The moment the driver is installed the pc locks up, any ideas? Thanks, Simon
