Hi
We are looking at setting up a single remote server where our in house application software (delivered to customers and living on customers PC;s around the UK) would log in, be authenticated, then deliver small files to the server.
Woud the server control the time out period and close the...
Hi
I am afraid I am not getting anywhere on this...
I think the problem is because my new field belongs in the group header not as both of you have suggested in the details..
I already have selection criteria for the group which must not change.
What i want is this new field in the group...
Thanks to both who have helped...
Monday will see my efforts at putting your ideas into place...
My concern is modifying my group criteria to cater for this new field having a selection criteria that is optional. I don't want my group header to be suppressed or any other field to that matter...
How does that achieve a field in my group header that says
"Rental cost" £30
because I can't still see in english the link from good help you gave below to the actual costfield in the access table that I mentioned
Month({?Parameter})=Month{{DateTimeField}} and...
Just to confirm -
I had created a formula field - so the formula somehow has to link the costfield to the date criteria?
If I don't have a formula - but just insert the field. How do I build the date criteria formula in?
This is just one field amongst many in the gorup header - so doesn't =...
Sorry for being thick - but how do I attach it to the help I have had so far...
I have put the field in the group header. But by itself it gets any old value from the table?
Hi
Its crystal 8.5
and this is not a record selection as such (well as far as I understand in my accepted very limited knowledge).
My field : It is a group header field (one field amongst many others) if its absent - then the other fields formulate the gp header....its just that this field...
that was quick - thanks
Can i take it one step further....please
As this goes into a formula field....How do I add the get clause
as in GET 'moneyvalue' when (insert your formula here)?
Thanks
Would somebody be kind enough to help me build a formula.
Scenario.

Hi
I am looking at replicating our Linux server from one company to another (both use red hat).
However our current server is using 6.2.
We are trying to migrate across to a new server on red hat 9.
However when i try and add a group - It seems I am being forced to have all lower case.
Is...
Thanks to all who have responded.
Just to clarify my initial mail - we are not in charge of the program - but the ascii file side of things.
Our Ascii file has a field that is defined in the spec. as signed numeric.
I believe that if the number is positive we do not need a + in the first...
"Are you reading or writing the fixed ascii file?"
Definitley READING ... and its ASCII
but because the first digit has a 1 in, the software is failing - reporting that the only valid value for offset 1 in a signed numeric field is a 0 or sign.
Its whether this is fact or 'a...
Apologies to you guys but I have done a search of Tektips and have searched hard and low to see if this question has been asked but cannot find it - so please do forgive me.
I am only dealing with a fixed Ascii text record.
I want to declare a field Signed numeric.
What are the valid values...
Hi
I am having a little discussion on legal values of an 8 digit signed numeric field. (Dos ascii input value)
The first offset is the one in question.
If the number is negative...
then a simple negative sign in the first offset.
If the number is positive.
The first digit can be any value...
Sorry to be thick, but i've had a system crash but can access my c drive still through a dos prompt.
before I rebuild i'm looking to get the file off that holds the numbers I dial to take remote access.
In my DOS window i can't seem to find anything (probably cos my dos isn't upto much to...
Hi
Have 2 or 3 machines individually registered on line..
Now they are coming to their life end - we have bought the 5 user license...
On the CD of the 5 user we have an 8 digit number...
This does not correlate to the registration code...
Surely we have done all we need!!! How do we take...
