j2_maxPageReadAhead on AIX 5.2
All my systems have ML04 installed on them and they all have 128 as their j2_maxPageReadAhead value. I'd call IBM support and identify what the default value is for this parameter. To me it looks like it should be 128 and that would point out that someone has modified your settings. -

Based upon your svmon output, you are using about all of your memory on the machine, which in turn is causing paging space usage. It looks like you have 4 gb of memory and about 9 gb of paging space. Your are using all of the 4 gb and about 2 gb of your paging space. I would make the changes... -

I had similiar output from vmstat from one of our AIX machines. In the fre column you can see that your memory fre pages are constantly reducing. Based upon your vmtune settings minfree and maxfree, as memory is used on your machine, pages in memory won't be freed until it hits the maxfree... -

Looks to me that you are running into some CPU and Disk bound issues. The first output from topas and vmstat are statistics since the boot time of the machine. So until you see the second statistic and so on, you won't see the correct information. Your run queue on the vmstat output is very...
