Hi all -
An old NT server died and I need to take a look at the boot drive to make sure there is nothing that needs to come off of it. All I have around are Windows XP machines with IDE boot drives. What do I need to do to see the contents of this drive?
thanks
Rachel
I'm sure there is someone out there who knows for sure, but I don't think you can upgrade to a member server.
Another option you have is to change the role of the NT server prior to installing 2003. Then you could upgrade those servers in place without having to bring lots of DCs onto the...
I have run into this - was this an XP Pro machine? Settings on a default install may prevent a regular user (as opposed to a power user or local admin) from accessing the Notes directory properly - only read access is granted. You need to change the security on the directory to allow writes to...
That is a beautiful thing. Works like a charm on my test system - thank you. How do you handle the Internet password? Right now, most of my users don't have Internet passwords set in their Person docs. I don't want to have to manually set it up for each person. Is there a way to make this...
Has anyone implemented iNotes on 6.5.1 (or similar)?
I'd like to set it up so that when users hit a given path - say \\notes_server\mail\ - they are prompted for username and password and then are directed to the appropriate mail file or welcome page. Is there a way to do this?
thanks for...
Sounds like a web filtering application would work for you. Look at Websense, SurfControl Web Filter, etc. Many of these applications provide the ability to both monitor type of traffic and consumption of bandwidth in addition to restricting allowed protocols, restricting access to various...
I also use printer scripts & have experienced this too - but only with Notes R5 clients. I run the 6 client on my machine & it doesn't happen. We're living with it for now since I'll be upgrading all clients to 6 in the next couple of months.
I've also seen this with other programs. They...
One app is currently running under 2000, the other is switching to MSDE 2000 from SQL anywhere.
Does using the same instance with two database potentially mean I could have a problem with the number of concurrent users? One app is a financial management product that has 2 to 4 concurrent...
I get the impression that it's possible to install more than one instance of MSDE on the same server. Can someone confirm this for me? I haven't been able to find anything specific on the Microsoft site. Is there something different that has to be done during the install?
I have two separate...
I made a few changes to the code to handle the commas. Also, I was having a problem where if all the fields were equal to 0, I was picking up the last integer from the previous record by default. So I inserted the "else". It probably isn't necessary for anything but the EmplAdded...
Here's something I started working on. Problem here is I'm not sure how to dump the results of the code (the string value strEmp) into a field on the report. Right now this code is in the On Format event of the Detail portion of the report.
Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer...
Thanks. I didn't think about putting the code itself in the unbound textbox. Question though - How does the And work? It looks like this means all fields have to be greater than 0, when in reality 0 to all 3 fields could have values greater than 0.
I am producing a report on which space is a premium. I'm trying to take three fields, each containing an integer and build a string as follows:
If FieldA > 0, then the first part of the string is FieldA's contents plus the text " Added"
If FieldA = 0, then I don't want anything to...
It appears that there are encrypted passwords stored in index.dat. Are these vulnerable to easy cracking? I'm sure brute force would do it eventually, but does anyone know how this stuff is encoded? I've been trying to look it up on Microsoft but can't get through to the support site.
thanks...
Hi - I have a column showing duration in seconds, and I want it to display in minutes and seconds (instead of 78 seconds, I want to see 1 minute 18 seconds).
How do I do this simply? (excel 2002)
thanks

I ended up downloading the point & print bundle for the 4500, which actually included a PCL driver for Win2K and that seemed to work fine.
Of course, then I tried to do the same for the HP 2500CM and crashed the spooler on NT (LOL - can't win em all)
and as for jetadmin I'm leaving it there for...
I did find that most of my printers set up just fine on W2K with the NT drivers; however, I did come across exactly what rjbj mentioned with the PCL drivers. So how did you (rjbj) get around this? I have a color laserjet 4500 that I can't get set up on the W2K machines and that's the last...
