This issue started yesterday afternoon. I would send messages from my Outlook as normal. They would go to my Outbox and get "stuck" there. The message would send (I got verbal confirmation, as well as people replying to my messages), but the sent message would just sit in the Outbox rather...
First of all, thank you for responding :)
I used the computer to look up which button would be assigned for extension 21 for primary coverage by using the quick access feature of telephone programming. Sure enough, primary coverage was assigned to the second button from the top on the left...
Hello,
I am very new to working with this phone system, and trying to hazard my way through these thick binders of programming information without having a basic understanding of the system isn't working well for me. So I thought I'd try asking here :)
Our office has employees frequently...
I'm not sure what happened to the DNS server a few weekends ago, but it has just absolutely died.
RPC (DNS's only dependency) is running fine.. and haven't seen any errors on it. DNS Server in Event Viewer says "DNS Server has started" but in Services, it doesnt show it as being started, and...
Restoring the system didn't help. NT LM is still missing and DNS still is not working.
Anyways of reinstalling this program? I heard I could try to reinstall RPC.. but I wanted to get a definitive on that. Thanks.
sec32.dll is not on that computer at all.. and the currentversion/run is clean of anything suspicious.
i havent un/reinstalled file and print sharing.. i think ill try that next.
napoleao.. i think ill try that on tuesday, hopefully that may fix the issue, because this is still an ongoing problem with the network.
vbrocks.. this was one of the first things ive tried to do.. and this didnt solve my issue either. thanks though.
mlichstein.. i never demoted the server, i...
I am the IT Administrator and I know I didn't remove it. Noone else touches these computers but me.
I've scowered over the Internet and I found what you did about the security compromise, but nothing about what to do if it's been deleted.
We have Win2k Advanced Server.
NT LM Security Service Provider - For some reason this has been deleted (lsass.exe) and I have no clue how to get it back. Does anyone have any suggestions?
For some reason over the weekend, our computer rebooted (virus related I'm sure). And now NT LM Security Service Provider is no longer in Services. Which means DNS, WINS, and other programs dependant on this service no longer works. I have updated the virus definitions list, scanned the computer...
I guess I'll try tango's suggestion of demoting it as a DC. Because the only problem I have is authenticating.. email is working just fine.. always has been.
Next time I'll be sure not to break my back working on an issue I never had. :)
I just double checked Symantec.. and the real time scanner is checking under the C: drive, and it was scanning the log directory of the D: drive. So I turned that exclusion on.
Think that's going to fix my ipc share?
My own typo. Not the M: drive.. the C: drive.
Yes, I am running realtime scanning on the server outside of exchange.
You think disconnecting that will allow the ipc and admin net shares to stick?
Wouldn't I be then left unprotected without real time scanning?
I have Enterprise edition of Symantec. I have it to scan my computer ONLY (which excludes M: drive) and one especially for exchange server to scan all email and mailboxes.
And I don't have the problem of my stores going offline. Just my net shares and it only deals with authenticating users to...
Yea.. I have to keep typing net share ipc$ into the command prompt in order to let people in.
I ran Norton i don't know how many times, and now it's completely clean, no issues. I applied fixes for everything (but always says "not found") and still.. no go. :(
2 others. 1 is the primary.. and the other is our SQL server. we tried to undo the domain controller on the SQL server but then we couldnt gain access to anything on that computer.. so we made it a DC again.
this network is built really funny. as you can tell.
