Not sure if this is the right forum...
I wrote this script (more like plagerized from various sources) to map drives based on group membership. The top part of the script runs fine. But once the script gets to the ifmember statements it just scrolls right through them to the end and no drives...
Arcserve backs up a drive with a bunch of small files a lot slower than it backs up a drive with a few huge files. After each file it catalogs the file. If there a bunch of little ones it has to stop a lot more than it does if it is backing up some gigantic databases or mail stores.
If...
Try disabling whatever antivirus software you have running and run a backup. It sounds like the agent is getting hosed by some other software on the box. I would start with the antivirus software first and then try some other things until you narrow it down to the program that is causing the...
I'm in a windows environment using 11.5 Enterprise. When I load the agent I generally select the Open Files Piece. Is there such a thing for Novell that might solve this issue?
I think I have been looking at this one too long and am just missing something obvious. I have a web designer that RDP's into a 2000 server every day. That server has a drive mapped to a system in the DMZ. Since the machine in the DMZ is not part of the domain we use the credentials from a...
Thanks. Actually figured that out when I got home that night. I found that tab on my router under gaming and forwarded the port to my IP. Been good to go ever since.....
So the new company is pretty strict on what we surf from our work computers. I want to remote desktop into my machine at home.
I have a SWbell ADSL with dynamic IP's. I have no problem checking the IP every morning before going to work to connect back. I set up remote desktop on the...
Went to eventid.net, but don't have a subscription to get any detail on the information. Anyone else have any thoughts on this:
"The description for Event ID ( 4097 ) in Source ( FlushService ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL...
I'm at a school district in Middle Tennessee. We have 2 schools that have 2 different software packages (Orchard and Accelerated Reader) that use Mac client work stations connecting to a 2003 server. The problem with both programs is that the SMB connection they use limits each program to 1...
For some reason my 2003 server kicks my OSX Mounts off after 15 minutes. I set the autodisconnect in the registry to 8 hours. Still got booted after 15 minutes. Set it to off and it still boots them off after 15 minutes. Any ideas?
I look up the error number on the MS website and there is...
First, you need to open up the file the .exe is in and go to Tools>Folder Options>View and uncheck "Hide file extensions of known file types." Then the .exe will show up when you look at the file and when you rename the file it will be File.dav, not file.dav.exe.
You might try moving everything over from the local user to all users if you are the only one on the machine and it will keep everything just the way it was despite moving to the Domain.
I have a problem connecting to networks while on the road. When I'm in the office or at home I have no problem connecting to both of those networks. But at hotels I'm having a problem. The only thing I can find wrong is the Deterministic network enhancer miniport #4 is messed up.
When I go...
I have a user who wanted to be the first kid on the block with a Laptop upgraded to SP2. Well, now he can't join WebEx Sessions. It seems he has already uninstalled SP2 as he yet again tried to fix a problem he created instead of calling me and now he's made it worse.
I went through his...
OK, so I fixed. I uninstalled it a couple of times to no avail but then I found some thread talking about this same error message and they suggested uninstalling in Safe Mode. I did that and reinstalled. It seems to be working just fine. I hope that the user can keep it up and running for a...
So my company uses a Cisco VPN Client that was created for us. Generally it works fine. I don't use it because after I installed it my boot up time tripled. I removed it and use the built in VPN Client in XP and have never had a problem. Most of the rest of the company uses the Cisco Client...
It is probably a Malware issue. The President was having major probs a while back. His kids play on his computer and he was having all kinds of popups. I ran SpyBot and then Ad-Aware and when that was all said and done I opened Task Manager and selected the Processes tab. I Google searched...
The President of the company just stepped into my office and asked me to look at something. He can open some websites, but there is no scroll bar on the right to see the rest of the page. I had him email me the link to one and I have a scroll bar. The wheel on the mouse won't scroll it down...
I'm not so sure it's a network issue. The biggest thing that changed just before this problem occurred was network related, but the files hang upon opening can either be on a network drive or on the C: drive. It doesn't matter. Also, when I log into the local machine and avoid the network...
