    thanks for your reply Sol. I have found something that says in may have something to do with the configuration of /etc/pam.conf Will look further tomorrow.

    Does anyone know how to kill the screen lock in Solaris. We have a number of users that when their screen locks cannot get back in due to NIS not recognising their password. Is there a way to terminate the screen lock without having to kill their dtsessions.
