File Create Date in VB4
I've not used VB4, but seem to remember using FileDateTime in VB3 ... as its there in VB5 I can only assume its in 4 as well. But I may be wrong!- chrisJLocke

Access Link Table is slow....
I use linked tables at work, and have no speed issues compared to 'normal' tables. What flavour of Access are you using? Are the databases 'local' on your network? We use a linked table over a 64k IDSN line without problems.- chrisJLocke

Attaching MS Word with VB
There is a "shell" command to fire Word, with the word document: shell "c:\program files\winword\winword.exe c:\files\document.doc" for example, but the .exe would have to be in the same place on each machine you use the program - could you guarantee that? A better way is...- chrisJLocke

Problem With Like
Have you tried: SELECT * FROM Component Where TypRef LIKE "*" & QryString & "*" The star (*) is usually the 'anything' wildcard.- chrisJLocke
