Anyone with experience in deploying Sage Master Builder Software for a construction company?
Any idea about deployment nightmares? Hardware demands? Time frame for a medium size deployment?
Thanks,
Pablo.-

Power values are ok, but if your UPS have a stepped wave output (not sine wave) you should consider that your fridge may not work properly whit it.

How do you know you have 450 and 900 watts in each instance?
Is the software reporting that value?
Or are you just adding power indications on the loads connected to the UPS?
If you want to be sure you need to get a True RMS Clamp Meter and measure the actual load current and multiply that value...
Well, if budget is the only concern and the powerware performance is good enough, then, you could keep that strategy.
But, you, the city and the company should make sure that the unit was really working properly and not just holding-on under normal conditions. Working below 32 F, is not...
Smart" is a way used by manufacturers to differentiate among product lines. In the APC case, both of them, the Back-UPS and the Smart lines ares Off-Line models (line interactive is a fancy way of saying "more expensive off-line"). Both of them offer voltage regulators and line filtering. The...
What about improving the UPS room condition? That will give you more choices. Other possibility could be to install the UPS in some other room and run the proper power lines to and from this new location.
Keep in mind that extreme temperatures produce important damage in batteries (high...
First things first; if you want to know how much power your units (servers, switches, etc) need you have a very simple way to find it for sure: HIRE A ELECTRICIAN TO MEASURE IT! It will cost you a couple hundred dollars but you will have a true value to start working with. Keep in mind that SMPS...
You can plug the PDUs input to the UPSs output, no problem with that.
If you want the UPS to work with the backup generator it may be better if you choose On-Line UPSs (double or multiple conversion units).

Almost all UPS have communications capabilities; but you can check that with the vendor at the time of purchasing.

No problem at all. But it is better practice, if you have more than one UPS to power each server's power supply from different UPS, just for redundancy.

I have never seen this, but if you want to backup you heat tape with an UPS you should consider the total power of the tape (usually 3 or 6 watts per feet) and compare it with the UPS power in watts, not in VA.
Second, you could install the UPS inside your house and simply run a line from the...
I don't know if the pink and green lines on your screen are due to power disturbances, but it's a possibility.
About your UPS as a line conditioner the answer is yes, most UPSs perform some conditioning, but unless you have a double conversion unit (on-line unit) the conditioning could not be...
It seems to me you only need to perform a "SYSTEM STATE". I've never done this over the network, but I don't think there should be any difference. Just run the backup utility and select the appropiated backup data.
Hope this help,
Jose.

As I said before, if the physical dimensions are identical, and the only difference is the 2 Amps in the Amp./Hour rating you could use the 20 A/H model without worring about significant electrical differences.

Jose.-

Take a look at www.genexus.com
It's the most cross-platform developing tool I've seen (by the way, I'm not a developer) from Linux to Microsoft and OS/400. It's just a code generator, and to the best of my understanding to switch from one platform to another is painless (except for the money, of...
I suppouse you made a mistake when writing the "12amp 20volt", so the possibility to replace the batteries for the 17 or 20 Amp models should be meaningless from an electrical point of view. But what about size? What about battery type (sealed? lead acid?)?
Be careful, handling batteries is far...
To use 2 different UPSs for a redundant power supply server is the smart way of powering it.
About the shut-down sequence, it will depend on the software you are using and its configuration. I have not experience with APC software, but I think it should allow you to set-up this in the right...
APC website shows 4.3 min for max. load (450 W) and 14 min at typical load (225 W). The UPS won't be able to handle more than 450 W of power requirement. If your PC grows to 550 W the UPS will shut-off itself (and the PC).
But I realy doubt that any normal PC could require more than 450 W of...
