I have 2 forrests - lets call them forrest1 and forrest2
I have 2 domain controllers - dc1 and dc2
In forrest1, I have dc1, which is a windows 2000 domain controller. It is the only server in the forrest. It is running in "mixed mode"
In forrest2, I have dc2, which is a windows 2003 domain...
the recovery console will allow you to copy files IN from floppy, but i don't think it will allow you to backup or copy out..."
I can copy across the network via the recovery console without a problem (with a file I just made) - I did what you said tricky, and also followed this article...
Ok, my windows 2000 AD box has died
I have a shared folder on there which up to 5 people use, I want to copy this folder to a temporary box so they can still access the files whilst I rebuild the DC.
I am currently logged into the Active Directory recovery console - but I cannot copy the...
Hey people!
Ive setup a new domain here at work, I have everything working except bloody icq!! If a normal user logs on they cannot use icq, an error messsage pops up saying "you must have administrative or powerruser permissions to access"
Surely there is a way to make icq work for...
learningspace 4 runs on windows NT using IIS 4.0
Learningspace 5 runs on windows NT or 2k using IIS 4 or 5.
Currently those are the only supported versions of IIS. What do you mean by IBM HTTP Server?? Do you mean it is an IBM box running windows? Or does IBM now have its own 3rd party web...
Hey people,
I have found out that Microsoft released a security bulletin regarding their JVM. The security bulletin is 'MS02-013'
Basically there is some form of vulnerability in Microsofts Java machine - it is recommended by Microsoft that you upgrade your JVM to a build greater than 3802...
and your definatly making connections from the web server to the DB? Im assuming you must be as you were able to install LS5 which means setting up the dsn's. Usually those errors are some sort of problem with the communication of the webserver to the database.
Heya Scott,
Cheers for the reply, its hard to get answers to questions on the subject of learningspace!
The reason im wondering about the browser on the server side is because I was assuming that lotus recommended browser "IE 4.01 SP2" because it installed MDAC 2.1 SP2
If you...
Hey peeps,
I have an old server running LS 4.01 (with superpatch) and have a quick question. In the Lotus install specs it has Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 as the recommended browser.
I have had this browser on my server for a while now but I am concerned that it may be a security risk. Am I...
Hi Scott,
We use our own third party assesments for learningspace. We found that the options were quite limited so we have created our own. We use perl scripts (for ls4, and we now use servlets for ls5) to launch external html template pages - we also have a database of over 50 thousand...
Hey buddy,
Thanks very much for that info! If you have any queries just ask...we have overcome a lot of ls4/ls5 issues so im sure our knowledge base can be of assistance.
Hey ppl,
I have built a ls4 and ls5 server both using sql7 backend. I am getting an error when logging onto the ls5 student page saying "the preferred version of this browser is netscape navigator 4.06 - using an older version may result in incorrect functionality" - this happens no...
Check to see that you are not using a timezone with a half hour increment. Doing so will cause synch issues with the DB - the fix is to change the timezone or apply on of the LS patches available from their support pages.
there is an issue with checking in/out courses if your NT server is set to a timezone with a half hour increment. For example Adelaide, Australia is GMT +9:30 - we changed it to a different time zone +10:00 and this fixed all of our problems. It is now on the lotus support pages.
