    Mapped drives vs. Shortcuts

    The computer will look for a mapped drive at startup and connect it then. A shortcut will only be access when the uses trys to access it. Hope it helps

    NTLDR missing on boot up

    I've had this problem, I've never been able to restore the system, I've always had to reinstall. If you need the data off the disk you can install the system to a different directory, boot up and save the data. Or Put the disk into another PC, boot up using the other PC' OS and get the data...
