Does anyone know whether Sniffer decodes RTSP protocol?
Also is there a sample trace file of RTSP traffic? pls e-mail me bancha@chula.com
Thank you in advance.

I've experience a case. When its duplex & speed mismatch occurs, especially for switch-switch connection, you may find many errors on those switch stat ports and many retransmissions in tcp maybe occurs. And that may cause application slow problem eventually.
I think
for my way,
I'd like to...
I'm very curious that Sniffer can decode many standard and proprietary protocol correctly (expert and decode window) but why not it automatically displays those correct protocol names in the protocol distribution as well as other monitor applications.

It might be stupid question to ask you that
what if i do port mirroring on a switch from 100 full-duplex port to the monitor port attached Sniffer Pro laptop with CBE2 NIC
and then analyze network traffic?

I'm not sure your case but I just tested Dummy Drivers with Sniffer Pro 4.5. If I'm correct, it supports only Win98 and NT.
So if your dummy driver supports W2K, please give me too. Thanks.

I experienced problem with reporter.
In case, it generated a report but without graphical chart (only tabular data appeared but no chart). I found that some program installed later (than Sniffer) replaced some crystal report dll file, e.g. craxdrt.dll, with a new one.
To restore it with...
Just share some resolution I experience.
Probably, check your csv files and date/time format of your system is the same.
Also when generating a report, look at date/time range you select.

I guess, if i'm correct, some protocol analyzers else allow different capture buffer at the same time. And sometimes one needs to analyze network traffic in different views/filters simultaneously, right?

I found that Sniffer counts error frames, despite it shouldn't, when a personal firewall is running on the same machine.
Also I found that some XP PCs fail even to install 4.7 but some run fine.

Alf,
Thank you. I'll try as you mention. Reinstall fresh DSS console only right. Another choice, try DSS console on non-W2K pc ?
A little bit doubt, is physical memory of console pc problem possible ?
And I asked myself, why DSS console error possibly cause DSS agent crash (dr.watson)?
BA
Have anyone seen these error messages on DSS 4.2 console?
Any advice would be very appreciated?

Thank you a lot for every suggestions. :D
As your mention, I should place the sniffer next to the server in order to how fast it responses for a command. So that I have to select and match a pair of Command/Response right and find its delta time. I wonder how accurate if, instead, I measure 90%...
I would like to know what anyone suggestions would be for troubleshooting the slow application with the sniffer. Also in case we never had monitoring and troubleshooting system deployed ever before.
