Hello folks,
Does anybody know any way to copy the properties of a graph object into another?
Here's why: my application has a form with a chart, customised by the user runtime, displaying a set of data retrieved by means of a query. Now, I was wondering whether it is possible to copy that...
Mac, Rick:
thank you very much for your last tips. I voted them as expert posts, since I think that the all that you told me will turn out to be very helpful in the future. Unfortunately it was not in this occasion... it's more than three months now I work full-day with Access, and beyond all...
P.S.: Back to the initial question, I don't understand why the chart based on the Query is always refreshed while the subform sometimes is not.
Now, I cannot tie the chart to the query and update the RecordSource property for the subform, when the SQL statement is the same. Since I prefer to use...
You're right: sorry about that!I tried what you had said, and in my case it didn'twork. But let me explain clearly what I was doing, it's my fault!
The first way I was following, was that of creating dynamically the SQL statement, assigning it to a Query (by means of Querydef's SQL property)...
Yes -sorry about that!- it was the RecordSource property. Unfortunately there's no way to make it update, unless I assign directly the SQL statement to the RecordSource property, instead of linking it to the query itself.
What I don't understand is why the chart, based on the same query, works...
Hello folks,
I have an application which writes runtime an SQL statement (defined by the user by means of appropriate controls) and assigns it to the DataSource property of a subform of the main form. Thus, the results of the query are automatically displayed in the subform every time I perform...
Hi folks, I'm building up an application, in which I would like the user to choose the way to display a previously selected range of data.
Since it seems I cannot access the chart's TYPE (the look) through the code, I was thinking of creating many stub different charts. Only one of them would...
peachmelba, thanks for the suggestion, though through the Chart Control Propeties you can adjust the chart OPTIONS, not the chart TYPE itself.
Any suggestions for how to modify runtime the chart TYPE?
Thanks,
Giulio
Hello folks,
after a long period of frustration, the help of some people from the tek-tips Access community made me work out the question of writing queries dynamically and automatycally. This happened by means of the QUERYDEF object.
Now I was wondering whether anybody could give me an idea...
Thanx a lot folks, though I cannot work that out, yet.
In fact, I need to write the query dynamically, as with the code GComyn suggested. But, when the "strsql" string is longer than 255 chars, that results in "strsql" being lest-trimmed to 255 chars. Do you know how to work...
hello, I am trying to execute a query by assigning the statement to the "sql" property of the querydef object.
Unfortunately, these assignment accepts only the 256 last characters, and so I cannot use long statement. Do you know any way to work that out?
Thanks,
Giulio
