Upgrading an NT 4 domain with a ".dom" already in the name

Upgrading an NT 4 domain with a ".dom" already in the name
I am in the process of upgrade testing for our corporate network. Currently, our primary NT 4 domain has the suffix .dom ie "mycompany.dom". When I try to upgrade to an Active Directory, and use the name "mycompany.dom", I get an error message stating that the domain name is...- achiavoli
