Sharing Excel data via the web

I need some help from everyone on if this idea is even possible. I have a nice spreadsheet that a client gave us that we would like to "share" between the two companies via our webserver so both parties can edit/add data. I tried saving the spreadsheet as HTML with interactivity and...

    Need Wireless Ideas...

If you are 500-700ft away from the ISP wireless will be the way to go. I seriously doubt that the public utility company will allow you to install your own cable on their poles without forcing you to take certain maintenance responsibilities or signing a contract (don't do it). Second is the...

Syslog Server for Windows 2000 Server

Cisco tech's even recommend Kiwi's syslog over their own software. Kiwi is the way to go!!! :)

    PIX Configuration Software

Just because a PIX is new does not mean it comes with 6.x or highter. We purchased our PIX last year and to my amazement my IOS was 3 versions behind what Cisco had released. It takes less than 5 minutes to upgrade the IOS of the PIX if done properly. I don't think returning it is the answer.

    Pix 506 upgrading

In order to get a CCO userid you need to purchase a Cisco Support Solution for the Pix506 which is a Category 4 SMARTnet Service. I would recommend going to CDW or Dell's website and ordering it there. Cisco's site is a little confusing to navigate arround. Costs vary but believe me its worth...

    PIX Configuration Software

If you haven't done so already I would recommend purchasing their support package for the PIX506. In it you can register for a CCO and have access to the latest software cisco has to offer. Do you know if this PIX has version 6.1 or later? If so you can run a command to automatically...

    Newbie Wireless guy seeks help

I am new to Wireless itself and I have 3 buildings that need to be connected together. 2 of the 3 are direct line of sight (across the street from each other), however, the 3rd building is located about 2 miles away. We have access to use local Celular Towers to place our equipment on to...

    Need software

If your PIX has version 6.0 or later you can go into the configuration menu of the PIX (configure terminal) and type setup. If PDM is already installed the prompts will appear to configure the PDM software.

My client wants a PIX book that includes PDM

Try this link for an overview of PDM and a PIX 501: http://cisco-elearning-sjdc.digisle.net/cmn/fchacon_10_1_2001_10_51_56/index.htm?

syslog is tearing my hair out and I cant figure this out

Glad I could help. I love the software. You can try Tucows.com for a syslog Daemon for Linux, they have a pretty good selection of software.

My client wants a PIX book that includes PDM

PDM uses the same commands that the PIX Configuration book has, it just gives you a nice GUI interface to work with. If you follow the config book, using PDM to change the settings should be relatively easy.

    Need software

In order to get any software from Cisco you need to purchase a support contract. Depending on what category your Cisco product is determins the price you have to pay. After you get the contract in the mail you need to register the contract on Cisco's site. Once you register you get a CCO ID...

    PIX Manager On win2k

I had the same exact problem when I purchased my PIX 506. I called TAC and they said that the diskettes for the PIX Manager are obsolete if you have 5.2 or greater image on your PIX. He recommended to download 6.0 with PDM and I did. Well worth the software contract.

syslog is tearing my hair out and I cant figure this out

Please don't flame me on this since we are talking about Linux. I use a WinNT machine as my syslog server running a piece of software called Kiwi Syslog Daemon. Oddly enough the Cisco TAC that I was working with when I had a problem with Cisco's Syslog Daemon recommended the file over...

What's the difference between total page views and unique page views?

It's based on unique IP Addresses as well. It won't count hits from the same computer unless it's IP Address changes (dial-up account vs. DSL or broadband).

    FrontPage vs. Dreamweaver

It's going to depend on how involved your website is going to be. Dreamweaver although more expensive is a lot more flexible in changing templates and applying themes than in FP2000. I changed our intranet site layout yesterday, 250 pages in all. I changed the main template by adding new...
