We have a webserver connected to an old database. The old database server is end of life. When we set that up we did not need a secure connection. Now we have a new database on a new database server. Our IT department is requiring this to be a secure connection (even though it's an...
I have a form that I want to act somewhat like a Switchboard.
If a user has records they need to audit, I want a button to show that they can click on to display the records. If they don't have any records to audit, I want it to say that in text instead.
The way i tried to solve it was with an...
I have a final report that has 5 subreports on it.
I want to suppress one of the subreports based on it's value.
The fianl report is "Donor Summary Report".
If the value of the subreport "Donor loss 56 query" is less than 200 I want it to have some default text instead, say "Not required"...

Hmm, no way to edit posts here?
Anyway, I saved it as a module named Sndx2. I removed the word "Public".
Then I used it in a query like you listed above and got the error message of "Undefined function in "Sndx2" expression".
Any tips? _____________

Michael,
If you are willing to provide a bit more guidance I'd truly appreciate it.
This is not for a mailing list. I am with a non-profit hospital that has a blood collection program. We have a very old and soon to be replaced computer system that is run on a cache database. The programs...
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the response. Now let's pretend I don't really know what to do with this (OK, maye I'm not pretending). What I'd like it to do for me is convert all of the first names into one soundex key, then all of the last names into a separate soundex key. I will then run a...
I plan to create an Access 2000 database to use over a network. The forms will be simple and the datapoints collected equally simple, but what I need to do is prevent the end user from having the ability to either access or edit the structure of the database, or edit the raw data in the tables...
I know I can search for duplicate records in Access, and I am aware of the so-so query that exists. Here is my dilema.
I am trying to ensure that duplicate names do not exist in a seperate database (seperate from Access, it's an old database that does not have a lot of access to it). I have...
OK, how about an IIf with a Dlookup? There is a subreport on the report that has a calcualted value. If it is above a certain limit a statement prints:
=IIf([Donor Plasma Loss Query].[Report]![plasma]>=12001,"blah blah blah.","")
Can I put a Dollokup in the true part of...
Thanks to both. I used Dan's suggestion as that was the one I understood. [thumbsup]
The user has the ability to change some of the info that will print on the header of a report, i.e. their company name and address. There will only be one value in the table, so there is no criteria set (at...
I have a table with user defined data, i.e. company name, address...
Can I use Dlookup to output more than one varialbe? I want to output:
City, State ZIP.
I am considering this option so that it will format correctly on the report without unecessary space or overlaps and the user can edit the...
Thanks to both.
I was hpoing VB would offer me some help.
The concern isn't that the end users won't have Access, it's I want to completely control the ability to modify the structure. I've found this difficult to do in a networked environment.
I did look at the Microsoft article you...

RG,
Thanks. I suspect it may be too much at this point.
I've downloaded some tools that manage data. While I do have Access installed on my PC, I don't belive they require Access to run. Is this possible? _____________
