FORMAT C seems to be the only think left to try, so I wiped the system thius morning and performed a clean install - hey presto no more connectin problem.

The problme is i dont know where/how to update the 0xFF data value
When I try to modify the disbaledcompnents entry in the value data box i can not enter the value 0xff - i can enter 0 and i can enter ff but it wont let me enter x
PS. Is this correct or a typo?

I have created the DisabledComponents item in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters as follows:-
Name - DisabledComponents
Type - REG_DWORD

When i go into this entry I am able to change the value data filed which is set to 0
