thank, i think i have solved the problem. it was my office updates, i wasn't running the latest updates, once i had updated my office updates the file opened within seconds- p4rm4r

8mb Excel file takes 10 mins to open. why?
i have an excel workbook that is 8mb in size. It takes 10 mins for the workbook to open. i have look around on the net for answers but all i get is 'turn of antivirus scanning in nortons' i run AVG on my XP machine with office XP, thinkin this was the problem i delete AVG antivirus off my...- p4rm4r

B2D file size question
I have a similar problem. Currently my backups are 400g, so I have set the maximum folder size limit to 500g The maximum number of folder sets is 1. but I keep getting 2 .bak files. Why is this. Ideally I would like one so that I can set up an erase job on it. Rather than setting up 2 erase...- p4rm4r
