    thought as much! thank you so much for the info. huge thanks for ioshunter ! that seems to be great. i'm only using the 1600's for routing table practice and testing but to be on ios 12 is now great. an ios upgrade for me next would be superb! cheers, chris

    hi i have been doing my CCNA with a local Cisco Acadamy, i'm just about finishing the 2nd part. i'm really enjoying it and am getting some good grades each week in the tests. i have a mini lab set up (2 1600's and a 1700, just to get me going) i'll be buying a switch and possibly a 2600 soon...

    thanks hugely for that. not sure where i got the 0x0142, i'm new to this! i did try with lower baud rates but not higher, it went straight in at 19200. i have printed the linked file and added it to my huge mounds of reading. thanks again, console baud rates have now stuck! chris
