I found a tempory solution the drop down menu beside the 100% drop down if you click on it go to add remove buttons, then standard you can choose to show or hide the option but not fully remove it thanks for your advice.
Thanks for the notice of the capitals, see the children of such are lazy and will have a mentor with them for any assistance do you know if you can actually remove the icon from the taskbar??
I am trying to set up a standalone workstation in a school now the computer is being set up for learning difficulties and so the children will not cheat with spellings i need to turn off the spell checker has anyone got any ideas please.
