Many thanks to ADB100. Yes the HyperTerminal Baud rate was at 115200 which i had set for a fast flash reinstall using the console(not tftp) and had forgotten to reset back to the usual 9600bps after a failed reinstall. -

Hi Everyone, I have a cisco 1720 which gives a gibberish output on the Hyperterminal.It won't go into rommon mode for a new IOS install.The OK LED blinks endlessly,looks like the POST fails.Does that mean the CPU is gone?. Anyone came across this before. Any help will be highly appreciated...
