I changed from RAID 0 to RAID 1 and finally got it recognized in XP. I set it active. What's the best way to make it the boot partition? There's nothing on it right now. I could use the help.

Syar,
Not trying to be lazy but I'm using the exact same mobo. Is it possible that I can get a copy of that disk from you and then I can edit it from there? I have 2 Maxtor 60 GB SATA drives on the way.

I don't have a floppy drive and I want to install 2 SATA drives in RAID 0 config. Can I use the old HDD to provide the drivers or does it HAVE to be on a floppy?
Appreciate any help.
With a gig of 2700 DDR has anyone tried turning the swap file down to maybe 20 meg or turning it off all together? Would the system (XP Pro) go slow as hell or be forced to use the memory?

I don't see that option in the BIOS but the 7000 RPM is working on the old heatsink and idling temp is now about 46C. Gaming temp is now 51C which is what I used to idle at. The old fan used to max out at 3500 and just wasn't enough. I may experiment with the 2 copper heatsinks later.

I didn't know that you could put a heatsink on backwords. There were no recess' on any of the heatsinks. As for the fan portion, the mobo ended up liking the new fan and disliking the old fan. No copper heatsink ever worked on this board. Just aluminum. BTW, while looking at my old heatsink I...
CPU (AMD 3000+ XP) temp at idle was about 52C and 61C gaming. Ordered fans and heatsinks and they would not run with the Asus mobo. Run for a second and shutdown. I figured that since the electronics were in the fan I might get a little more cooling from the copper heatsink and the old fan...
Thanks guys. I'm waiting for a new video card before I crack the case. You know, I may just put the second drive (20 gig and 5400 RPM with the CDROM and put the 60 gig with the 80 gig. Both are 7200 RPM. I suppose a RAID 0 cinfig HAS to be same size hard drives.
