Definitely not a hardware issue in my case. After having changed NICs with no change, I've found that the root cause of my problem is the fact that the COM+ Event System Service is being affected by the Network Connection Manager (netman) application permissions being reduced so as to not allow...- kulpins

I am having this same problem. It appeared on a Dell GX260, WS2K3SP1, with all current updates (as of 10/12/2005). The network suddenly stopped.
