    I had the same problem after installing VS .net and SQL Server. To solve the problem I referenced in the Project (Project-> Reference) the following DLLs: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Designer\MSDERUN.DLL and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Designer\MSDE.DLL and it worked fine afterwards.
