You should setup cluster as "NW aware nodes" so that you
can backup logical hosts. LGTO.clnt resouce needed for every
logical host.
For physical node backup, use every local file systems instead of ALL.
Sometimes, server or client's directive must be setup to skip files
and dirs.
The only thing we can explain is that:
NW server use IP address to calculate the used module licnese number
but with timeout value. This is why we can backup more
clients than license number. (not at same time).
The license pool just hold or relase license slot for clients.
After moniting NW by nsrlic -v for a while, I find it't hard to say how NW server assign module licenses.
For example, I have another NW 7.2 backup system with 9 SAP module.
connected cluents: 6 physical hosts, 5 logical hosts (on two
nodes cluster).
It usually works fine, but sometimes...
I just update my bakcup system using new auth codes.
Obviously it is still based on physical hosts but IP address.
I have a lot of logical hosts in my cluster configure.
you are right. nsrlic -v provides more readable information.
Consider following output of nsrlic -v:
BusinessSuite Module for SAP R/3 Oracle
Available: 6
Used: 5
Remaining: 1
Connected Clients...
NO. Delete clients is not a good solution.
In fact, You can define clients as many as you want.
The NW server just limit Maximum client number in specific period. This is why I ask this question.
If you check dynamic data for license:
nsradmin -i - <<!
option hidden;dynamic
show status...
In my NW test environment, there are total 10 client licenses.
But there are 15 systems need to be backup.
NW server deal with licenses as First Come, First Serve.
Can anyone tell me what is license timeout value.
I mean how long the NW server will release the license when
a client is...
NW module licenses are based on physical hosts but logical hosts.
Two sysbase module licences are enough for two-nodes' cluster.
If you just have one module license?
The reason is for collocatation. I try to put all save sets of one clinets into one tape -- normal bakcup pool other than
clone pool.
In fact, another issue related with it: Volume's pool name
can not be changed. Relabeling will destory all data.(the data
there but can't be accessed)
If we...
Hi,
I need to copy some save sets to other volumes in same pool or
other backup pool. In NW, only clone or stage can do that but the target volumes must be in clone pool.
I knew it's hard but I think
it must be some methods to copy save set to same pool.
Any idea?
