ftp working intermittently on nt4.0 after a 2003 server in domain
The multihomed machine makes not using the proxy a problem. I tried diddling the DNS settings this morning and so far all is working. In the advanced lan setting under the DNS tab I clicked append these DNS suffixes and added the domain name. Everyone is working now. Weird. Thanks for your...- mcseknitter

ftp working intermittently on nt4.0 after a 2003 server in domain
It is my outbound FTP connections. We use proxy server 2.0 and then go through a netopia router. It really seems like a caching issue because if I reboot the server it will work for awhile. hmmm- mcseknitter

I was preparing a new server for 2003 and did as suggested (installed nt4.0 on new server made it a bdc brought it up and promoted to pdc then upgraded to 2003) Foolishly I installed Active directory and then all my troubles began. I took the 2003 off the network and promoted my nt server back...- mcseknitter
