Thanks for the suggestion. However this doesn't work. The sales data is entered in the database on a daily basis and is dated as such. The cross tab is summing and grouping by month. I added the date field twice in the columns set the first one to print for each month and the second one to...
I have a cross tab report showing sales data by month. The report is laided out like this:
Month
Profit Center Monthly Sales
There are 24 months worth of data in the cross tab. Everything works as it should except I need to sort the data by month rather than...
That is exactly right. The share permissions were already set for Authenticated Users - "Full Control" (that's how I do all of my shares). I added the following NTFS permission to \\fileserver\users - Authenticated Users - "Read Permissions"
I have fixed the problem, thanks to Idiran for pointing me in the right direction.
To the "\\fileserver\users" folder I added the following NTFS permission:
Authenicated Users - Read Permissions
"Read Permissions" is only available if you use the Advanced button within the Security tab on...
I haven't found a solution yet. Some required software for our company is not yet Vista compatible and probably won't be for a few months so I haven't been spending too much time working on a solution yet.
I am trying to generate a report that will display records in Table A that cannot not be found in Table B. The two tables are related to one another.
I am not sure what the best way to approach this report. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I just tried you suggestion and added my domain name to the trusted sites. It didn't work. My folder redirection is setup using the server name in the UNC path also.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I don't yet have a copy of office 2k7 to install. I will probably have one in a couple weeks. It will be very interesting to see whether or not the problem disappears or not when I install 2k7
I'm running Vista Business edition, fully patched.
This is not a laptop.
I fired up Office, tried to navigate to the documents folder, which of course generated the 'access denied' error msg. I then checked both logs that you spoke of, neither had any events relating to the problem.
The correct 'apply onto' permissions are set for the user folder.
Also, the registry key 'personal' points to the correct UNC path on both Vista and XP machines.
linney: That problems sounds similar except for the following things. I can open/change/move files in the share if I use explorer. I cannot open the share via an office product.
Weellio, I will check your suggestions shortly.
Thanks
I checked the redirection path on both boxes, they were the same. The folder redirection is being applied fine on both machines.
What I couldn't find is that registry path on either box. Are you sure that path is correct?
I read the article and did exactly what was recommended....no change. Then as a test, on the parent folder I set full control for everyone. Still no change. This problem is beginning to get really frustrating.
The UNC path is as follows \\fileserver\users\<username>\my documents.
The...
The name of the share is 'Users'. As far as using a test share, all the other shares that are in use behave as they should, so I think I might have a hard time recreating this problem. Also, I don't really want to delete the share as all our users here depend on the share for their relocated...
