i found the solution and is here http://wsus.editme.com/TroubleshootingWSUSInProduction i did an uninstall of IIS and WSUS and then a re-install and the problem was fixed. thanks for the reply- pannivas

i installed WSUS on a couple of servers but on of them is giving me this event id error. i looked it up but i cannot find how to resolve it. Any ideas?
