Try running cfgmgr down each fibre path individually and see what it tells you. Use the command "cfgmgr -vl fcsX" replacing fcsX with the appropriate fibre adapter. If you get timeouts down all paths and no tape devices are discovered you may have an adapter issue, cable issue, switch issue, or... -

Since my HMC's are remote I do not have access to the proper security sections, I looked up the info for you in a redbook. I would use these steps and choose the option for "Allow the user to chose secure or unsecure connections". That way you have the coice of using a secure connection still... -

PVID
When the VG that holds those disks is varied off on the server that has the PVID's you need to run "chdev -l hdiskx -a pv=yes" on the server that does not see the PVIDs. That command will import the PVIDs off of the disks. Then you can importvg the volume group info off of those disks. Jim... -

lppchk inconsisten state
The only way to fix that is to manually pull that stuff out of the ODM. IBM has a procedure somewhere on their website for a bad version of websphere where the uninstaller did not clean everything up properly. I think it was Websphere 4.2.2 but I am not sure. Anyway, the procedure for cleaning... -
