Guys:
I'm trying to restore a SQL DB from Brightstor 10.5 w/ SQL agent.
I can see the session where the DB is backed up, logs say it was backed up successfully. But when I try to restore, I get the following:
Error 3402 - Unable to create file <path to file> EC=Invalid Name
I'm trying to...
Are you guys aware of any way to find out how many Emails have been sent to a specific domain from our Exch 5.5 server? I know there are 3rd party tools, but we don't really want to pay for an entire tool just to do these reports.
Thanks.
There are 10 types of people in the world,
those who...
We have some remote PC's on which we want to install the Exchange 5.5 Admin tool on. Is it possible to extract the installation files for just the Admin tool from the Exchange 5.5 CD and send those to these users instead of requiring them to use the actual Exchange server install program...
Here's the scoop guys:
Is it possible to design an Outlook form that would accomplish the following:
- Once the form is filled out, it would be placed into either a personal folder or a mailbox.
- There cannot be a copy of the form saved in the user's sent items folder.
Sounds like it should...
We've got the following server:
- Compaq DL580 w/ dual pIII 900mHz CPUs
- Compaq 14 drive enclosure (model 4LEE)
- HP Smart Array 5302 RAID controller with 256MB of cache
We are doing large data transfers to the drives within the drive enclosure and getting very poor performance (~1-2mb/s)...
We are in the process of planning an Exchange 2000 migration and I would like to know what book you would recommend for an Exchange Administrator?
I picked up Exchange 2000 24/7 by John Bee, anybody like this one?
Thanks in advance,
Vos [peace]
Guys:
Has anyone experienced any slowdowns or performance problems when they added all the domains to the Email Filtering in Exchange 5.5? The list I want to import has over 2400 entries, and I just want to make sure importing it won't adversely affect my users.
Thanks, Vos [peace]
We're running Exchange 5.5 (SP4).
Everything is running fine, except a public folder that is being used as a common contacts folder for users across the country. The folder freezes up occaisonally and nobody can access it. After a while, the folder is available again.
The size of this...
We've got a weird one. We're running an ML 530 with a Smart Array3200 RAID controller running RAID 5 with 6 HDs. 5 HDs are part of the RAID 5 and we've got an online spare (that's saved our a$$e$ a few times throughout this ordeal).
Last week, we started having hard drive failures. Weird...
I had a process running some debugging on one of our Win2K servers, the console was locked, until one of my colleagues logged it off with the admin account causing my debugging to crap out.
Now I'm trying to delete our debugging file as the debugging is no longer running, but I'm getting a...
I've got one mailbox that, when logged into, shows an unread message in the Inbox, but the Inbox is empty.
Exchange 5.5, sp4 with Outlook 97 on the client.
Here's what I've checked so far:
- It happens on any PC that connects to this mailbox.
- I've tried all the 'views' within Outlook...
I've got a DSL modem and I'm looking to use ICS on a Windows XP Pro box to allow my other 3 PC's to use the internet.
Everything I've seen says that you can't (or shouldn't) use ICS on a domain, but they don't say why. I've got a Win2K domain on my other 3 boxes. Why shouldn't I be able to...

We have some shared calendars on our Exchange 5.5 Server. For some reason, one of the calendars appears to have become corrupt. I can open the other folders in that mailbox, but when I open the calendar from any PC it freezes Outlook. No error messages, just freezes. This only started...
