I had a drive cut out on me a while back, thanks to those of you that helped.
I've finally found a drive that matches the model number (WD400BB-00DEA0) however it's manufacture date is 3 years after mine (2002 v. 2005)
I've heard that the model number on WD drives indicates pretty well...
I'm trying to find a WD 40 gig hard drive to attempt to swap the PCBs on a dead drive. My drive number is "WD400" but I'm seeing it also advertised as a "WD400BB" - Are these drives the same or different? Anyone know what the "BB" stands for?
I'm hoping I can at least salvage my data here. I'm sure if you've been in this position before, you know how I feel.
