    Enabling 64-bit Kernel on AIX 5.3?

    Can you enable the 64-bit Kernel on AIX 5.3 without re-installing? I installed AIX and took the defaults which is for 32-bit. I want to enable the 64-bit support. I found some instructions for doing this on AIX 4.3 but am not sure if the same steps apply for 5.3?

    AIX 5.3 C compiler?

    Hi, We just got some new Power 5 servers and installed AIX 5.3. Is their a C compiler included with Aix 5.3 (cc or gcc)? I couldn't find it. We need a 64 bit C compiler to re-compile a small application. Any help is appreciated. -jjct
