can not edit/move/remove inittab
I have a p550 that we put a mksysb on. I addev xvfb to the system and added the following lines to inittab (via vi - yea yea I shouldn't have done it with vi) :xvfb:2:respawn:/usr/bin/X11/X -force -vfb -x abx -x dbe -x GLX :n /dev/null 2>&1 :startX:2:once:/etc/rc.startX > /dev/console... -
WAS IBMIHS and VirtualHosts
Hello, We are currently testing WAS (6 - patched up to 6.0.2.5 and are running it with IBMIHS 6. All on AIX 5.3. The application in WAS that we are using is ColdFusion MX7. I have the pieces working OK but as we are brand new to WAS I am having trouble understanding some of the connectivity...- dvsweden

Hello, I have created a rootvg2 on my virtual i/o server (a p550) and created two logical volumes of 32G each. When I lspv the hdisks on the individual lpars one shows 32G the other 20G. I went back through my shell history to see if I had a type but no, as far as I can tell on the vio level... -
hdisk numbering oddity
I have an odd issue. I have a p550 running 5.3 I have it lpared with a vio server and 4 clients. On my dbserver I attached a san and 3 vdisks. I created a vg, lv and fs for eaach san vdisk. After I mounted the last file system and repbooted the hdisk numbering changed. I had hdisk 0,1,2,3,4... -
Maintenance Packages Q
I just installed the maintenance package for 5.3.0 I am seeing some weird issues with the system load going up and down after the install. I am new to aix and I want to make sure I didn't cause the problem. Is it OK to remove the files from /usr/sys/inst.images after the install? Thanks! David
