    Error issues re available RAM

    My son has an HP 6745C with Windows ME. System indicates 198 meg of RAM but shows less than 5% available, even though the only programs operating are Explorer and Scandisk. When Scandisk runs it generates an error saying there is insufficient RAM to complete the Scan task. Computer was fine...
