After 6 years the left pane in Windows 98 explorer is blank. I use it all the time. The Forward and Back Buttons are greyed out too. There is an X which closes the pane so I know the pane is open. I've checked and unchecked everything I can find; evidently not the correct one(s). WhatshudIdo?

Ran Defrag a month ago, first time in years, it said there was 1 bad cluster and implied the HD was therefore at death's door. Is it? One bad cluster out of (I think)40,000? I don't have the exact message anymore. This is W98. Fujitsu 10.2GB.
