    VB 6 on Windows XP SP2?

    Actually, I'm not a technical user... My son wants Visual Basic for his birthday. His school used Visual Basic 6. My question is, will Visual Basic 6 work fine on a Windows XP computer? Any pitfalls to watch out for? Or would I be better off spending 4 times as much to get Visual Basic.net?
