I've got Windows 7 and Paradox 10. It is a network situation, but the temporary script is local. EVERY time I attempt to close an unsaved script it crashes Paradox. I now minimize them until I am ready to exit..but I'd like a better solution?
Does anyone have a multiuser setup with this combination? Are there any serious problems? Almost all our users are still XP and I'm hoping we can upgrade and get at least another 5 years out of Paradox!
I get a seemly random GPV in my new windows 7 installation of paradox 10. It seems to be most often generated when I try to exit. Often no tables are open. I also get a "paradox is not responding" on occasion. Again, no tables are open. Any ideas?
Yesterday morning three tables were damaged. The data was present, but everything else seemed to be wrong. I couldn't even copy or query out the table (even after deleting all of the related files besides .db) without getting errors that indicated there was not enough disk space. (not true) When...
We've had paradox since 1994. I have not had this problem. Everyday my table has primary index errors. The index consists of 5 fields. Everyday I create a new table, append the records, reindex and rename. We are on a windows network. Why would this happen "all of a sudden"?
We've been using paradox since 1994. We've had a few problems along the way, network speeds, particular station settings etc. This one is different. The largest table is almost a million records. It has 9 fields, block size 4, record size 48. It has one secondary index and currently no other...
I've got hundreds of sets of images (lists of covenant documents and maps for plats) that are pdf binders (Adobe v. 8). The problem is they are too large for emailing and attaching to policies. We've got space restrictions on the title server and when you attach them to each policy you're also...
Does anyone have unusual print outcomes (distorted images)for tif or pdf? This has just happened recently with the server upgrade to Windows 2003 R2. Almost all users are on Windows 2000. The print to pdf/tiff (separate drivers) print drivers are all local. Any ideas?

I have used a paradox database and corresponding forms/objectpal for years. Now it appears the development has stagnated and we are testing the mssql database. While I can import the data and perform sql tasks, I am completely in the dark as to how I can use my existing forms to...
It seems as though there is no development happening in Paradox. The new WordPerfect Suite has the same version, and Corel doesn't seem to have much information. Does anyone?
I am trying to read from a .txt file that has been created as an ascii fixed in pdox. I need to clip it in to another application. The readfromfile works fine, but the "fixed" aspect is lost and the data is messy. The readfromrtffile gives me the error "cannot read from...
I am trying to document database data changes from one week to the next. My qbe question is what records from last week don't exist this week (making sure nothing erroneous is happening). The problem starts because I need ALL the fields involved. This takes forever and/or fails. Is there a...
Is there any calculation for the max (ideal) number of tables to use in a data model? Many of our form use ten or so tables, and amazingly they work well. I added one more table a few weeks ago, and that seemed to push everything over the edge. Maybe because the table added language driver was...
We have experienced some erratic tables lately. I have rebuilt them using Chimney Sweep, everything looks ok. Since the problems persist, I looked more closely (while totally rebuilding the tables) and noticed that the secondary indexes are huge, four times that of the .db file in some cases...
Since the upgrade to PDOX10 the .lck files regularly are not deleted from the private directory upon exit. Of course that creates problems for the next attempt. Is there an additional step that should have happened during configuration of the clients or server to avoid this? Nothing else has...
I have a table indexed on job# and a timestamp. When trying to call a second form from the first and limiting the view of that second form to records on the first form (job/timestamp) neither setgenfilter or setrange will work for me when I include the timestamp. I've tried every format...
I have a problem where paradox was installed as an administrator on the machine (appropriate to my understanding). While logged on as ANY person with administrative rights, paradox through the start/programs/paradox works just fine. However, as a user w/o adminstrative rights, it appears to be...
I would like to catch any keystrokes relating to deletion of a record and send the user to an interactive q & a. This would probably be at the form level? Would you have to account for all varieties of keyphysical or is there a blanket that would work better? Thanks.
I have created a crosstab report, but I wanted to filter the records (rows) I see. Nothing in my arsenal seems to work, except querying the table ahead of time and deleting records that do not match my specifications. Is there any sort of limiting action that can be performed on a crosstab?
In the case where you have for example a job table, a customer table, and a job/customer table, can referential integrity REALLY occur for both? It seems that the cascading does not work if the primary index doesn't begin with the same as the master table. In my case, the job as a master to...
