    Computer doesnt boot and no POST beep either

    I recently aquired a pc from a friend who no longer had a use for it. After about 5 days of usual use it has collapsed and refuses to boot. Upon pushing the power button there is NO POST beep but Fans do come on.. the HDD spins up and LED's come on. I beleived at first might be dodgy expainsion...

    A friend recently brought a new pc from a friend (2.4Ghz, 512mb Ram, 2 x 40Gb HDD) I installed a fresh copy of XP PRO on it with no problems... For about 2 months the pc was fine until latley, where it has been suffering with preformance issues. I have already removed any unnessecery software...
