I've been running version 4.7 of Acceler8DB for a number of years and it has worked fine throughout numerous AS400 upgrades. However we've just upgraded to AS400 5.3 and 8DB refuses to connect to the server - I'm getting an error "1301 : Value for parameter 2 not valid. CPF3C3C".

I've installed SCO Unix 5.0.5 onto an IBM Netfinity 3500 and have installed two network cards(at different times) - a 3Com and a Dlink.

I'm currently backing up my SCO Openserver v5.0.5 using cpio. I'm not overly happy with this and am looking to bring in some professional backup software. Anyone any advice or products they would recommend or otherwise? Thanks.
For the last few days my system has intermittently rebooted itself. This isnt caused by a user as nobody else has access to do this. How can I find out what is causing this?
I am running SCO Version 5.0.5 (Release 3.2) on an old Osicom i386 machine.
When backing up to a DAT drive using
tape -s reset
tape -a 512 setblk /dev/rStp0
cbackup 0 2000000 /dev/rStp0 /dev/u
the filesystem backs up fine with no problems. However, when I follow this with either
tape -s amount
or
tape amount /dev/rStp0
The message '0K transferred' is always returned...
I have a 1/4 inch tape drive which will rewind, erase, write and read small files.
However, if I try and write larger files(although not nearly large enough to exceed the tape/drive capacity), I receive and I/O Write error code 5.
Is this a fault on the hardware or is there a problem with the...
Having succesfully used the following cpio command for 3 years,
echo "FILENAME" | cpio -ovB -Hodc > /dev/rct1
I am now receiving the error message
cpio:I/O error on write():I/O error (error 5)
I have used 4 separate tapes with no success. Is this a hardware problem with the tape...
