My Dell Latitude D600 laptop with WinXP SP2 is always listing 4 Default Monitors under Device Manager. I can not remove these even if I uninstall them. Should these be there or some type of listing for the laptop's LCD screen? Thanks.
A curious question - why does Word 2003 open faster (almost instantaneously) on my Dell Latitude D600 laptop (1.6 GHz Pentium M processor, 512 MB RAM) compared to the PC I built, which has a 3.0 GHz P4 Prescott CPU, 1.0 GB DDR2 RAM, 120GB Hatachi SATA hard drive, and an ASUS P4P800SE Mobo? Is...
I have an ASUS P4P800SE Mobo with a Hitachi 120 GB SATA HD. The user's manual states that the SATA drive should operate up to 150 MB/s. The BIOS allows a setting of Ultra DMA Mode=5 as the max setting. This is also the same DMA Mode listed in Device Manager in WinXP. Is the DMA=5 operating at...
I am getting the following message in Windows XP, under Computer Management System Logs: "The driver has detected that device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 has predicted that it will fail. Immediately backup your data and replace your hard disk. A failure may be imminent." This refers to my second hard...

My new PC build has one problem with Standby. I can easily place the PC into Standby, but it will not resume. I hear three loud clicks, coming from the Hitachi SATA hard drive (I think), and then I get the Blue Screen describing a hardware error. One screen told me I had a Kernel Inpage...
