We have been using the Nortel CSE1000 for over 5 years with the 1140E phones. We recently ordered a batch of phones for new users that are the same model number as the old. We noticed that the boot sequence for the phones was different It went to Waiting for CFG Data
S/W version...
We almost have our Softphone installation working. We switched from the Nortel VPN box to a Juniper one. The tunnel appears to be working fine. All users have been able to connect through the tunnel and to bring up the Avaya Softphone version 4.2. Everyone can get dial tone and place a call...
I have a CSE1000 with T-1 lines as IP trunks to each of 3 different BCMs. The phones on the CSE 1000 are 3xxx and on the BCMs they are 5xxx, 3xxx and 4xxx. I can forward calls from the CSE1000 to each of the BCMS The CSE1000 numbers are DID numbers. When on one of the BCMs, I can 4 digit...
Our CS1000 has been running fine for a number of years. Recently we have had random occurences of noise on incoming calls from the PSTN. I have not discerned any pattern but the noise is always with our receiving (listening). The other end does not have any noise. The noise is like a bunch...
I have been in the process of getting the Softphone to work with our BCMs. We have 4 sites and I had been successful. In our lab, I have added 2 Softphone and was trying to add a third when all of a sudden I got a message that the server was unresponsive.
When I checked the alarm log of the...
We have just had a Softphone install completed to a CS1000 using the Nortel SSL-VPN box. The Softphone comes up and is working fine for a couple of minutes and then it loses the connection to the Signalling Server. The Softphone reinitializes and the connection is reestablished. If a call is...
We have three 5520s on the 3rd floor and 2 on the 2nd. These are connected with a 2 fiber trunk. In the last 2 months we have had 1130s on the 3rd floor failing to communicate with the server on the 2nd floor. All the units on the 3rd floor have blinking green base lights. Resetting all...
We have a 1140 that has been in service for a number of years and we needed to reboot it. On reboot it comes up with an error message "waiting for cfg Data" and then "Couldn't identify switch". The phone then does DHCP and comes up fine. What can I do to get rid of error. Using firmware C41.
We have been using a CSE1000 to a Verizon switch over 2 PRI lines with NI2. We have been attempting to switch to Level 3 as our phone service provider over the same PRI lines. The Verizon switch is set up for Centrex so the only other thing we had to do was to remove the "9" insertion. We...

We are using PRI lines with Verizon and want to change the Displayed CallerID when we make calls. We thought we had turned off our sending of CallerID and was told that Verizon was sending it. Where would I look to see if we are indeed sending CallerID and how would I change it.
We have a CS 1000 with the 1140 phones. We originally had i2004s. A couple of phones will display DHCP parse error and stop working. A simple unplug of the phone and reconnect corrects the problem. It is rare for this to happen but was wondering if anyone has any idea of what would cause it...
We are looking at providing the capability of a user calling our BCM and then being able to call another number from there. On the CSE1000, this is provided as DISA. It appears that on the BCM I should be able to do an AutoAttendant with a CCR that allows calls by Route. Will this work and...
I have a 5510 that has been working fine until I needed to unplug it and power it back on. Only the power light came on, so I plugged in a terminal and discovered that there was No Agent Code. I therefore connected the switch to another switch with a PC running TFTP. I set all the parameters...
I just wanted to verify, before doing an upgrade to the switches the following;
I can upgrade the diag and img files in any order and should reset after each upload
and If I upgrade the base of the stack that all the devices in the stack will be upgraded.
Thanks,
We are using 2811 routers in a STAR configuration with just static routes. I know that in IOS CEF is turned on by default but I was wondering does it have any affect in the 2811 routers, or should I just use no ip CEF in all the 2811s.
We are currently using GATM8 modules with Analog phone lines. We are considering switching to CTM8 so that our office would be able to call out on line one using the aux port associated with it. It appears that if the BCM is having problems that this would allow outgoing calls from some...
I have a BCM 400 at several sites. At one site, the CallerID is showing name and number and at other sites just number. When I use BCM monitor under line it gives number and then a ? for the name. This gives me the impression that the telco is not sending the name. Is that the case or is...
We have a strange thing happening on our BCM 4.0 system. The other day it ran out of memory and we got a critical alarm saying so. Shortly after that occurred we noticed that when we dial a "9" we get a fast busy with no message. This has been working and we have destination code 9 set to...
When users of a BCM400 using 4.0 make calls that go over the GATM modules, they periodically hear a BEEP over the phone. This does not happen all the time-but it does reoccur on a call when it happens. Does anyone have any idea as to what may be causing the problem.
Thanks,
Larry Avrunin
