I have a user getting .PDF files sent to them from a vendor. The mail arrives with gibberish embedded into the body of the mail, and a message that says:
This message is in MIME format. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible.

I run an NT4.0 domain. Our remote users connect via SecurID to our parent company, then authenticate to our network for mail etc.
Clients are running Win2K Pro. When authenticated to SecurID, they press CTRL+ALT+DEL and try to change their password. After a moment, they get an error message...
I am working on upgrading to Exchange 2K. To test moving mailboxes, I need to have enough mail in them to be realistic.
Does anyone know of a utility to send mail to mailboxes; I'd like to send a different amount to several mailboxes.
Thanks,
Dan
I am trying to install Outlook 2K2 via a MST file. I want to send this to users instead of doing a local install on each workstation.
When I create the MST file, it never gives me a chance to enter the license key. So, upon completion of the install it asks for the user name (that's fine), and...
I will be deploying several Active Directory servers (all they will do is AD work) in Europe. I want them to be almost maintenance free.
I am installing Diskeeper on my other servers, but is there a benefit to using it on AD controllers? I don't know how much they get fragmented over time...
I have 10 sites, with a total of 500 users. In "Best Practice Active Directory Design for Managing Windows Networks", Microsoft says that it is a "best practice" to have the initial domain in a forest established as a root domain with no general users; the bulk of the users...
Is there a script that will allow me to generate a list of accounts with passwords set not to expire?
I found one that would tell me account expiration dates, but not password expiration information.
Thanks,
Dan
I have a domain that is migrating from 4.0 to Win2K. I have one Win2K server that I want to be the time server for the domain. It is a member server of the 4.0 domain, but when I migrate to 2K it will be a domain controller.
Our current NT4 PDC is at another WAN location.
I can't find anything...
I have an ISA server that acts as our proxy to an ISP. I inherited the system (disclaimer).
Recently, I updated the server (Win2K standalone) using windows update. Upon reboot, the routing of internal addresses doesn't work. If I put the internal addresses in the clients IE settings it works...
I need to replace a .ini file on a Win2K workstation. Here is the scenario:
I need to replace a .ini file on logon to connect the users to a test machine. On logoff, I need to put the correct on back in place.
User will log in locally to the machine, not to the domain. We cannot log the users...
I'm migrating to a Win2K server from NT4. On the D drive, I have a Home share, and under that I have folders for users. For example, the path to my folder is:
\\server\home\DROTHBA
In User Manager for NT4, that is the path I have specified for my home (P) drive.
However, when I log in my P...
Does anyone use a program/batch file to monitor server uptime? I'm being asked to report on % uptime for our major servers. The servers are all on my local subnet.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Dan
A server has Exchange running on it, with the logs and DB on a drive that is compressed. I feel strongly that it may be causing a lot of delays, so I want to remove the compression on the drive.
Has anyone done this? I am pretty sure it doesn't cause data loss, but would like a second opinion...
We need to print multi-copy forms for pick tickets in our Distribution center.
Does anyone use an impact printer in SAP, or any other means of creating two-copy forms?
Our DC people need to validate pick tickets by writing on a copy, and right now they have to transcribe those markings to...
A user needs to protect some formulas. The spreadsheet has been set up for summarizing. When he protects the sheet so the formulas cannot be edited, he can no longer expand the sheet.
I also tried using data validation rules on the cells to prevent a user from entering something in that cell...
Hello. I am in the early stages of installing SMS and have a few questions for people using the product. Our network is currently NT4.0, clients are Win2k Pro and Win98 mostly. We have offices connected via frame; some links are slow (128K). Network is single domain, with individual subnets in...
I am ensuring that our users can see the availability of attendees before sending out meeting requests.
1. The MS Schedule+ Free/busy service is running on the server.
2. Set up (in System Folders) to replicate to all sites.
I'm not sure if all sites have to replicate to all others, or will...
We are moving users from one Exchange site to another using exmerge. The office is in Germany, and the Outlook installs don't have an inbox, they have whatever "inbox" translates to in German.
When we imported one, it created the original inbox (with the German name), and a new Inbox...
We had a server that we couldn't join to our domain after moving it to a new subnet. Technet said to solve it we have to do a second install of NT on it, then delete the original one. We've done all but delete the original install.
Exchange isn't part of the new install; the services don't show...
