    File-(PROTECT) problem

    My hard drive went bad and had to recover my work files using vendor software. When moving or copying the files they came over in a 'read-only' mode. How can I 'release' the read only function and get back the update ownership? Thanks in advance, many many worksheets are affected. Joe
