    Win XP Device manager error 10 ?? with AC97 hardware

    I recently re-installed windows XP in my laptop and it now shows a device manager error code 10. I have tried re-installing the driver for the C-media AC97 but it still has a problem. The hardware worked perfectly fine prior to using the restoration disc. Any ideas ?
