Hi,
I've got a crystal report that supresses certain sections (as you do) but when I hit the export button all of the supressed sections are exported. So what this means is I look at a report with five records, export to csv, and end up with a file with fifteen / twenty records in.
Any ideas...
Dear all,
Quick emergency message! I've got a job scheduled to start at 23:45:00 and run from then on every hour. For some reason it appears to run fine at 23:45 (according to the event log) but not again after that - until the next day when it runs again at 23:45. It has run OK in the past...
Anyone seen some of these rather nice Flash sites that are starting to appear that utilitize the maths functions in Flash to create trees, pseudo-realistic wind effects, objects that display semi-elasticity, etc, etc?
All I want to know is; anyone know any sites that have any the mathmatical...
I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't remember how, or if indeed you can, attach type / text to a path. The general aim here is to create a shape, for example a circle, and then bend the type around this.
Thanks!
PetitPal.
p.s. I have PS6
p.p.s. I know that the text pallette does...
Dear all,
Here's an interesting one for you (well ok probably not, but none the less). I am currently unfortunate enough to be supporting a VB 3 app. running on an Access 2 database. I have a customer who's database spent most of last week corrupting itself on their new server, running...
Just a quick question,
I want to write a component (in VB?) that can be run within a web browser but retrieves data from an access database held on the local machine; i.e.: the machine that is running the browser session, not the server that is providing the page.
I assume that this is...
Just a quick question (honest),
I need to know if it is possible to write an ActiveX dll or component that can be embeded into a web browser that accesses a database on a local machine.
Anyone ever done this, or any ideas of other ways to do it?
Thanks!
=)

p.s. I want to write the...
I was thinking about PSP the other night (as you do) - don't you think angled guide lines would make a rather cool addition? So you could slide them on like normal guides, and then, when you right click, set the angle - make drawing perspectives, etc, etc so much easier. And before anyone even...
I think it works something like this, although I haven't tried it myself yet; leave the bits that you want to be transparent as transparency (i.e.: not doing the old "fill all the background in 'n' and selecting 'n' as the colour to be transparent"). Then go to the 'Save for web'...
Dear all,
Can someone help, please? I'm supporting a product which runs fine on 90% of people's computers but there is one site where it doesn't. Every 20 mins or so (variable on each client machine) it keels over with an 'Out of Usable Memory', error 3037.
It is using VB 3 and Access 2 (I...
OK, heres a weird one,
I need to map a hard drive on a DOS machine to a Windows NT Server machine (so that the server can see and access data on the DOS machine's hard drive).
Someone has said that you need to use netlogon and then netuse but I have no idea on the format of these commands to...

Quick question; I have a Deskjet 840 c which I am trying to fix; apparently, it used to run on Windows 98 fine and then someone installed windows ME. The best that it'll do now is print one page and then the green / orange lights flash.
I have tried it on a Windows 98 box with the original...
I'm trying to fix a PC for our local youth club. It is running ME and IE 5.5. Whenever you start IE it gives a 'Content advisor: not enough information. Go to ...blah, blah, blah... and check settings'.
If I check the content advisor settings everything seems OK; there is a rating system set...
OK, I know I'm probably going mad BUT this project is driving me mad now, so...
- to return a string from a function you need to use a pointer?
- this code (as an example) should work...?
void change_it(char *my_string) {
*my_string = "hello\0";
return;
}
void main (void) {...
Here is a nice effect that I have been playing with for a long while now but I thought I would share with those who don't yet know it...
The basic one runs like this...
- Start with a plain black background image size somewhere around 500x500 (or whatever you fancy!).
- Take your airbrush...
Dear All,
Just to let you know there are a couple of FAQ's heading towards the forum; I think they are being checked at the moment so they should appear soon-ish (hopefully). The first one is just a repeat of the text effect posting, the second one is about a nice easy way to give a '3d'...
For those of you using PSP7, here is a nice text effect which I worked out:
Black text on a white background, and add the coloured foil (artistic effects) with the following settings:
Blur: 7
Detail: 16
Angle: 44
Colour: Black
Works quite nicely if you do it right.
X-)

Dear All,
Just wondered if anyone knows a way to merge vectors; so for example if you draw a circle and a rectangle can you then merge them together? I don't think you can but I'm just wondering if anyone else knows better! (Might make life a little easier than just having to node edit loads...
