DB2 V8 on AIX question
I have a new upgrade instance of DB2 V8 on AIX. It was upgraded from 7_02. Since the upgrade, the server has been crashing several times per day. The dumps and snaps have been useless. We are running AIX 5.2-ML1 in 64-bit mode with JFS2. Thanks, Bill. -
SAP Enterprise on AIX 5 crashes server

Backup question

DB2 command length limit question
Currently, I have a DB2 command that does a disk to disk backup. The command is 891 characters long. I was curious if there was a limit of the # of characters that can be passed into a DB2 command. I've looked at the Admin books as well as the CLI books. Thanks, Bill. -

Another RH 6.2 question - rpm update
I've a fresh 6/2 Redhat install. I am trying to install some updates. If I try to update rpm to 4.0.2, I get a message that "libdb-3.1.so" is needed. I have that library downloaded, but I suspect it is not that easy. What do I need to do to update rpm from 3.0.4 to 4.0.2 ? Bill.- bjverzal

DLT Density Setting question
I have a DLT 7000 drive that I want to run in 20GB (DLT 4000) mode. Which (if any) /dev/rmt0 device would I use to force the lower density setting ? If I can't get the density lowered via a /dev/rmt0 device, what automated method can I use to accomplish this ? TIA, Bill. -
