I have an Access 2003 DB I'm creating and I'm having a hard time with one aspect of it.
I have a form that prompts for a user code and password. The usercode is a combo box that prefills with all known user-ids in the user table. That part works fine. When they fill in the password and click...
Hi *,
I've searched Technet, Micro$oft and tek-tips, but so far have found no fix.
For all my users on this workstation (there are 2 of them - Administrator and me), the "My Documents" folder is behaving like a regular folder. I need to fix that and also get the Desktop Shortcut...
I have a new upgrade instance of DB2 V8 on AIX. It was upgraded from 7_02.
Since the upgrade, the server has been crashing several times per day. The dumps and snaps have been useless.
We are running AIX 5.2-ML1 in 64-bit mode with JFS2.
Thanks, Bill.
Hi *,
We are installing SAP Enterprise on AIX 5/64-bit mode, over DB2 7.2.
We've had the server (IBM 7026-B80) crash 4 times during the Enterprise upgrade.
Anyone have a clue as to the problem ?
Thanks, Bill.

Hi *,
I have submitted a FAQ on how to add a pSeries LPAR to an existing SP complex. Thought you might like to see it. I suspect it should be available as soon as tek-tips Mgmt gets a chance to look at it.
Peace,
Bill.
On a DB2 backup to disk, I am told there is a limitation of 2GB on each individual filesystem. For example:
db2 backup database database_name to /fs01,/fs02 . . .
Is there a limitation of 2GB each on /fs01 and /fs02 ?
Currently I have over 100 /fs?? filesystems, each one 2GB in size. I'd...
OK - I have a proposed SSA loop here and I was wondering how it looks to the collective eyes of the list.
I have 2 drawers and 4 hosts.
H1, H2, D1, D2, D3, and D4 will be my abbreviations. Port numbers on the 020 drawers will be preceeded by a dash. For example,
H1-A1/D1-1 is host...
Currently, I have a DB2 command that does a disk to disk backup. The command is 891 characters long. I was curious if there was a limit of the # of characters that can be passed into a DB2 command.
I've looked at the Admin books as well as the CLI books.
Thanks, Bill.
Does anyone out there have any marketing/technical information on the 6203 and 6205 SCSI adapters ? I was looking to do a comparison to see if upgrading to the 6203 would buy us any more performance.
Thanks, Bill.
Help!
We've got an SP node here that keeps losing time, regardless of the fact that xntpd is running.
We added 2 CPU's to this server yesterday and this problem started after that. I've even refreshed the ntp.conf file.
If I take xntpd down, the time drifts 5 seconds every 2 minutes. With...
I have a NIS question...
We have a Dell Network Appliance that is talking with an F50 via NIS. For some reason, the 2 won't play together nicely. When we update the users on AIX, is there anything I need to do to refresh NIS with the updated ?
The Dell is not getting the updates from the F50...
I just installed XP. After finishing, I applied all necessary critical updates. All of this was done from a corporate LAN.
Now, when I try to access my local ISP via dial-up networking, nothing works. All I get is a constant stream of data as "received packets". I thought it might...
I've a fresh 6/2 Redhat install. I am trying to install some updates.
If I try to update rpm to 4.0.2, I get a message that "libdb-3.1.so" is needed. I have that library downloaded, but I suspect it is not that easy.
What do I need to do to update rpm from 3.0.4 to 4.0.2 ?
Bill.
I just finished installin a Red-Hat server. I am trying to run "up2date" to get the latest updates installed. Python keeps switching between

I have a DLT 7000 drive that I want to run in 20GB (DLT 4000) mode. Which (if any) /dev/rmt0 device would I use to force the lower density setting ? If I can't get the density lowered via a /dev/rmt0 device, what automated method can I use to accomplish this ?
TIA, Bill.
