I tried to move a mailbox from one server to a different server. At some point in the process it failed. I now have the working mailbox on server 2 and half a mailbox on server 1. If I try to Purge the mailbox on server 1 it tells me that the mailbox is mid replication and to try again later...
I have one uses where Exchange2k says the mailbox is 277mb in size and yet they have only 5 emails with no attachments, nothing in send or deleted items, only a few contacts and 5 calendar items which are on endless recurrency. (170 items in total apparently)
Is this corruption or is there...
My exchange server has failed because it has decided there is insufficient space on the drive to mount the store (even though there is over a gig in space but I digress). I have run eseutil recovery so ften now it is driving me nuts and it keeps failing. I have got to the point that I am just...
I have 2 exchange servers, 1 is at our main office and one is used at a remote site. The servers appear to have decided to swap their roles and the primary server "appaears" to have become the secondary server and vice versa. I say this as internal email is now taking 4 or 5 seconds to arrive...
I have just used printmig for the second time and although everything appeared to work fine, half a day later, some printers are losing the connection to the printers on the new server, others are working fine.
Even though no errors are generated in the error log, a restart of the print spooler...
I have an OU that my boss has moved and as a result, his Treo no longer works. On looking at Exchanges error log, it tells me that error 1021 is the problem and is the result of one user trying to access another users mailstore. I believe that to be the Treo and my bosses account.
The...
I am having a problem with msiexec when I try to update an administrative install point with a service pack.
Microsoft's website tells me that this should work:-
msiexec /p c:\officexpsp2\officesp2.msp /a \\server\officexp\std.msi SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb
however, as I also looked up applying...
I have a vague recollection that there is a way to apply a service pack to an administrative install point. I am hoping someone can tell me if I am dreaming or if there is a way.

I have one user where I have checked all the printer settings and all paper types are set to A4, the Outlook Memo style is set to print to A4 however, when the user prints an email, it comes out on Letter.
I have also checked Internet Explorer settings and these are set to Letter, however, it...
I have an NT4 box running Terminal Services which has produced the following error:-
Unable to create temp\lbi02645, error 2. (354)
Now I thought this was just a permissions thing but sadly not, I gave Everyone full rights to that folder and still the same error. I can find nothing on the...
I have just transferred about a gig of Access databases from a dying NT4 box onto a brand new Windows Server 2003 dual processor box with 2Gb of RAM on a 1Gb network.
The Access 2 databases are working fine, as are the Access 2000 databases. The Access 97 databases all take about 20minutes to...
I have two old domains on my Windows 2000/2003 network that are no longer used.
Looking at the notes from Microsoft it tells me that the only way to remove the domains from the network is to run dcpromo on the FSMO (domain controller) running Active Directory.
Now before I build a test server...
I am trying to add the Active Directory Schema add-in to my MMC so that I can actually see the Operations Manager to allow the server to extend the schema.
However, to do that Microsoft tell me I must install the Windows 2000 Server Admin Tools which I will find on the Windows 2000 server CD...
I have looked at a number of the threads on Tek-Tips and have followed the advice about ensuring I am not in Open Relay (on msexchange.org and microsoft.com).
When I change the SMTP Connector to a duff IP address to clear the queues as suggested, the queues do get cleared. However, when I...
I have never seen this before, but my SMTP virtual server has vanished. How does that happen? No error messages, no nothing just gone!
Before I just go and create a new Virtual Server, has anyone seen this happen before?
I can see that there is only 97Mb left on Drive C but that shouldn't...
I am trying to get my head round locking down terminal services so the users can't do anything except access one particular program.
According to that article, once I have used gpedit to lock down the server, I then have to log on to the server as every user that I want the lockdown to apply...
Bloody Marvelous! There I was, running through Microsoft's white paper on locking down Terminal Server, closed gpedit without thinking and now I can't get back it as I have removed the run command from the menu as it never occurred to me that the user configuration would affect the system...
I have a server acting as my printer server for about 25 printers around the network.
I tried to add a new printer yesterday but the HP Netork printer wizard can't find the printer, neither can the Add printer wizard.
My network has fixed IP's but even when I use the existing IP of the...
I am in the process of setting up a TS 2003 server but many of the notes on Microsofts site talk about Group Policy options that do not exist on my 2 W2K AD Domain Controllers.
Do I need to make the TS server a domain controller to expand the AD to include the new W2K3 options?
I think I am going mad as I cannot get the net use command to work.
I have setup a DOS boot disk to enable me to login to the network via DOS so I can use Ghost in the way I want to use it.
All the commands in the autoexec.bat file run fine until I get to:-
NET USE f: \\amur\it\images
then...
