I have a SILO-to-BROCADE SWITCH-to SERVER setup. When I do an ioscan, only the picker arm, and fiber cards of the Ultrium tape drives show, never the drive themselves. Has anyone encountered this type of situation before?

My current Veritas backup environment is 4.5 MP6. For compatibility issues (HPUX, Linux Redhat, Windows 2000, and Citrix platforms) is MP6 equivalent to FP6?

On my HPUX 11.0 server, the bpdbm spawns mulitple processes of itself whether or not backups are running. These processes cause a I/O spike on the OS drives. The server hosts Netbackup with several other servers operating as clients

I have a four server (HPUX 11.0) Veritas (4.5MP6) environment. The gui indicates two backups more than a month active are still running. I have restarted the gui several times but the bogus backups still show as active. However, under the "details" tab, both backups have a start and end time...
I have setup several backups to run daily, each with a monthly retention backing up incremental data. Are these tapes written over each time backups run? or will these tapes be written over, or appended to, only after the expiration date?
